CHARLY HANGS
As most of you probably didnt guess, I drew the lips that used to be tiled x&y across this entire blog background. It was out of a notebook I “stole” from another artist who most likely doesn’t miss it.. In summer 09 I began a series called Oral Fixation that had trademark sketched lips and painted kisses all over canvases; I went on to throw my first art show with my best friend (because we just decided it was more fun that way) and it’s been magic since.
I continue to paint canvases and sell them, and I still throw art shows.
Each painting is characteristic of whatever I happened to be feeling; I experiment with different application techniques, but I always use acrylic on treated canvas (sometimes duck cotton canvas, if I skip a meal and play for change.)
